Photographs of the early life of your baby are adorable. They are also a great way to preserve those lovely moments. However, unlike adults, infants cannot handle the pressure or wait for long at the photo studio without requiring attention from the parents.

Given that a photo session may take a few hours, it is good to make preparations for the baby and yourself before heading to the studio. Here are some things that you should do.

Schedule a photo session early

If you plan to capture all the stage of your baby’s growth, consider booking a photo session with a baby photography expert in Melbourne as early as the third trimester of your pregnancy.

You can have the first photo shoot five to ten days after birth. Liaise with your photographer to know what is required in the session. Discuss poses, outfits, and the best time for the shoot.

Pack all your necessities

Put everything that you require for the photo session in a bag so that you do not forget anything. You do not want to start looking for everything on the very day you have an appointment.

Some of the things that you require for the session include baby clothing, several diapers, nursing bottles, pacifiers, different outfits for you and the baby, shawls, and blankets. You may also bring some props if suggested by your photographer.

Feed the child before the session

However, consider feeding the baby at least 30 minutes before the session starts. This will prolong the first photo session before the baby requires attention again. A baby with a full stomach is usually a happy baby and, in turn, brings out beautiful photographs.

Take care of yourself

Most new mothers do not have time to look good. However, before the session, ensure that you have your hair made, wear a little makeup, and look for an outfit that brings out the best in you.

You should wear comfortably with dresses that allow you to breastfeed the child without much hustle. Moreover, you should have a good night sleep the night before so that you are fresh on the day.

Enjoy the day

Everything does not have to run perfectly during the session. Therefore, you do not have to stress over the tiny details of either the session or yourselves.

Moreover, the photographer has lots of tricks that he or she can use to bring out the best of you and the baby. Try to enjoy the day as much as you can because a happy face will show on the images.

With proper preparation, you can have a stress-free and enjoyable photo session. Moreover, it ensures that you do not forget any clothing or props that you would require for the session. Communicate with your photographer beforehand so that you know what is expected of you and the baby.
